Sand Ceremonies are becoming very popular today, especially for outdoor weddings as an alternative to the Unity Candle. The Blending of the Sands is a beautiful unifying ceremony from Hawaii that symbolizes the joining of the Bride and Groom or the blending together of their families.
You can find an assortment of vases, jars, bottles and other containers as well as the colored sand online or at your local hobby craft store. You may also purchase additional smaller containers if children will be included in your ceremony.
Since containers and sand are so easy to find, we do not offer them on our site. What we do offer is the Unity Sand Ceremony Script or the Unity Sand Ceremony Words that are used during the Sand Ceremony.
There are 6 different versions. Version 1-Couple only; Version 2-Couple and Children; Version 3-Couple, Couple's Parents and Couple's Children; Version 4-Couple, Couple's Parents and Couple's Children, extended version. Version 5-A Heartful of Love–Couple only, using heart-shaped vases. Version 6-Couple only, non-religious version. This is a fun and colorful way to symbolize the blending together of your lives and families during your wedding ceremony.
